Law Maker Calls for Accountability

A member of the House of Representative representing Ibadan North East/South federal constituency, Adedapo Lam-Adesina has charged Nigerian lawmakers on the need to remain accountable to the electorates.

He made this call at a town hall meeting organised at the Mapo hall, Ibadan on Thursday, December 24, 2015.

Lam-Adesina who noted the gap between Nigerian politicians when they get elected stressed the need for politicians especially lawmakers to maintain close contacts with their constituencies as this would “help public office holders to be transparent and continually earn the trust of citizens.”

While enumerating his activities at the green chambers, Lam-Adesina said: “Over the past seven months, I have maintained an unhindered accessibility. I operate two functional constituency offices and a personal telephone number that has always been available since year 2001. It is unfortunate that most of our politicians do not maintain any close relationship with their constituents after they are elected.”
This is asides my personal project ‘Omo Oloore’ brand which has birthed an educational development scheme where free West African Examination Council (WAEC) forms were distributed to final year secondary school students. We also support grassroots sports development.
He also assured his constituents of the gains in the motion he co-sponsored with House leader, Femi Gbajabiamila on declaring a state of emergency on youth unemployment in Nigeria. The lawmaker also reacted to questions from the audience which bothered on welfare.
