The ruling party All Progressive Congress has recorded a big victory in Saturday's Local Council Election in Zamfara State.
This is apparent, as the party has won all the Chairmanship positions.
This was recorded as Muhammadu Garba, the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission in the state, said on January 3 in Gusau that, all the aspirants of the APC in the 14 Councils had met all the provisions of the electoral law and have been announced as the winners of the polls in their respective councils.
The INEC Chairman added that 14 political parties including People's Democratic party took part in the election.
Meanwhile, the PDP in a statement by its state charman Hassan Nasiha, before the election said it was boycotting the polls.
The party added that since it was still challenging the election of Governor AbdulAziz Yari, it was not going to take part in the polls.
Muhammad on his own part, commended the efforts of shareholders, including security agencies for ensuring the success of the election.
